ProViso Consulting

Story Behind the Need

• Business group: GWRT – Global Capital Markets Technology
• Project: Wallstreet Money Market
• Reason for request: Net new requirement needed for support of application

Candidate Value Proposition

• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the money market and treasury space. In addition, this is an opportunity to build knowledge to use the bank’s widely used Wallstreet Money Market application (+ other FX systems).
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders (front to back).

Typical Day in Role

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including business end users and upstream / downstream technology groups to gather comprehensive information related to daily issues and requests
• Work closely with internal development resources as well as third-party vendor contacts to design and test creative and efficient solutions
• Main scope of role is to support application in a functional manner
• Support constitutes functional support of application usability (as opposed to more technical back-end application support)
• Wallstreet Money Market application requires a support team to augment, make sure the system is running, triaging support requests, etc.
• Possible on-call support needed (pager service)
• Potentially conduct some minor defect fixing work on the application
• Primarily working with internal technology support team (responsible for infrastructure), vendor (ION), as well as application support team (BAs, developers, etc.)
• Actively participate in team stand-ups and scrums to ensure broad awareness of in-flight issues and coordinate work efforts
• Manage functional and technical requests as well as bug investigations and discretionary work efforts using a variety of tools including JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow
• Actively participate in improving team processes and workflows, with an emphasis on knowledge retention and intra / inter-team cooperation
• Working on Wallstreet Money Markets

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 1+ years’ experience, or interest in pursuing, as a business analyst
• 2-3+ years’ experience in front line application support
• Being first on-call for any support required (first line of defense)
• 2-3+ years’ experience writing intermediate Oracle SQL queries
• 2+ years’ experience using Unix/Linux (ideally 4+ years)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience in Capital Markets technology:
o Functional knowledge of money market instruments and related technologies
o Understanding of trade lifecycle
o Exposure to Wallstreet systems (Money Markets is more niche, but would be an asset)
• Technology project experience as a business analyst participating in a significant software migration/transformation initiative.
• Java experience would be conductive to success in this role
• ServiceNow experience

Best vs Average:

• Any candidates who have Wallstreet systems experience (optimally Wallstreet FX) will be prioritized.
• Any additional technical knowledge is an asset as well (more Unix, or Java as examples), although the role itself is closer to a technical BA than it is to a pure application support analyst.

Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree related field required (technical field is an asset)

Candidate Review & Selection

• Structure and Format:
o 1-2 rounds of interview
o Teams video interviews (45 minutes) with HM and director

Additional Notes:

• Seeking a resource that is more of a cross-over between an application support analyst and a BA
• Candidates that lean heavily towards technical roles will likely not be the best fit for this role
