Department Overview
• The Canadian Payments Platform & Capabilities Team, is part of Enterprise Payments (serving both Canada and the US), which is within client’s Digital Strategy & Payments organization.
• The Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the near-term strategy, transformation, and execution of client’s Payments roadmap.
• We focus on initiatives that create business value, improve customer experience, and de-risk the payments made by Canadians.
• Collectively, these initiatives will enable client’s Next Generation Payments Platform which will allow any customer (business to retail) to make any payment (E-Transfer on Real-Time-Rails, Electronic Funds Transfer, Wires, etc.) to anywhere (domestic or international) at any time (safely and securely).
• We work closely with the Lines of Business (Personal Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Commercial) to collect, prioritize, shape, and execute their needs.
• We also work closely with Digital, Marketing, Fraud, GAML, and Risk to ensure we are building the most convenient and safe payments products for our customers.
Job Description
• Reporting to the AVP, International Payments, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the management and delivery of business analysis activities on complex, transformational, cross-functional capabilities for Enterprise Payments, supporting Digital Commerce. The primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Leadership of the end-to-end business requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project, working collaboratively with stakeholders from lines of business, technology, operations, and governance & control, always keeping a customer-centric focus
o Proactive identification and management of requirement risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints
o Contribution to Change Management deliverables (stakeholder analysis, gap analysis, change planning, etc.) to ensure readiness of our customers, colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholder groups
o Application of a variety of business analysis tools and techniques to solicit requirements and ensure alignment with business and Enterprise Payments’ needs and strategies
o Adherence to Enterprise Project Management governance and controls to ensure requirement deliverables meet best practices and standards
o Collaboration with technology partners, providing recommendations towards system requirements and design to ensure alignment to business requirements
o Contribution to Quality Assurance activities by supporting development of test strategies, test plans and test scenarios; and active participation in assessment and resolution of testing defects
o Contribution to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of colleagues by sharing knowledge and experiences
o Fostering a collaborative team environment by actively participating in team meetings and reward & recognition programs
o Contribution to a positive work environment by embracing diversity in the workplace and supporting and proudly representing client in the community
Job Requirements
• Advanced knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project life-cycle
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis (BA accreditation is an asset)
• Proven experience in successful requirements delivery for large, complex, multi-stakeholder programs/projects
• Strong verbal/written communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, adapting style and technique to a diverse audience
• Prior experience in a financial institution (payments-focused role is an asset)
• Strong leadership with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with all levels
• Prior experience in Agile requirements delivery is an asset
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
• Skill in using analytical software tools, MS Office, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Must Have:
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis (BA accreditation is an asset)
• Experience leading end to end business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, tech partners and Advanced knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project life-cycle – 5 years
• Experience building out requirements and flows on transactions processing for reconciliations – 1-2 years
• Prior experience in Agile requirements delivery environment – 2 years
• Transaction processing experience (in North America)
• Demonstrated success delivering change and payments initiatives
• Strong verbal/written communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, adapting style and technique to a diverse audience

• Understanding of operational and change management in implementation of settlements and reconciliations exp. – from delivery and change management perspective
• Agile delivery certification (scrum, po)
• BA Certification
• RTR (real time rails – interact initiative) knowledge and experience
• Payments knowledge – from a financial institution
• Lynx knowledge (Canadian payments settlements system)
