Project:

• The CBT Business Analysis team is focused on supporting all technology projects that are delivered to our Insurance Canada and Retail Branch business partners.
• The team contributes to the overall success of the Branch and Insurance Canada/ Canadian Banking Technology team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.
• Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The BAS will work with our Business and IT clients to gather requirements, map business process and facilitate business and IT collaborations.

• Working on AML KYC piece – working with branch rapid lab team to take in the AML KYC needs
• Application is customer onboarding portal

Typical Day in the Role:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Ensure the end-to-end process is fully analyzed and documented which include all delivery channels, affected processing units and technologies.
• Ensure that requirements are clearly, accurately, and thoroughly documented and understood for both system changes and/or process changes and that there is value and consistency added to the user and customer experience. Experience must include both Waterfall and Agile.
• Assist in creation of Business Cases and cost/benefit analysis to ensure quantitative and qualitative benefits are achieved as required.
• Manage timely and accurate delivery of tasks for assigned projects through all stages of the project life cycle from concept to implementation. E.g., scope work effort, track task to a project plan, map process flows, document requirements/stories, liaise with Business, Development and Vendors, Test Validation/Defect mitigation, Communication plan execution, etc., ensuring that the Senior Manager and/or Project lead are kept informed of all unresolved issues, other areas of concern and any other deviations from plans through timely and well documented reporting.
• Activities will include, cost/benefit analysis, data analysis, impact analysis, process analysis, preparing detailed documentation of requirements for systems/process changes, and preparation of instructions/training material for users.
• Manage work and tasks with Development and other stakeholders and ensures system requirements are realized.
• Develops, maintains, and enhances relationships with management within service, product, development, and delivery areas in the execution of projects.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with client Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Must Have Skills/Requirements:

• 3-5+ years’ experience of Business Systems Analyst experience within FS
• 4+ years of experience within an Agile environment – strong understanding of agile methodology and ability to pivot back and forth between a hybrid model
• 5 + years of experience creating BRD, user stories, data mapping
• 5+ years of experience of MS Project, MS Office and MS Visio, JIRA, Confluence.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous client experience is a PLUS
• AML KYC Knowledge / background is strong preferred
• 5 + years’ experience of Data Analysis Skills –reading and writing SQL queries independently, data mapping and query the current system to understand the challenges
• Knowledge of banking process and systems

Soft Skills:

• Good business analytical skills
• Good communication skills to work with the business and the technology teams; in order to have strong understanding of technical requirements to translate requirements
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and business writing skills: with the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences and levels: – e.g., Channel management; developers and management; internal business clients, and external vendors.

Certifications

• CBAP or other BA Certification, CSPO/PSPO/PSM designation

Interview Process:

• 1 round generally – about 30 minutes long and will make decision

Additional Notes:

• In accordance with new regulatory requirements, Branch Onboarding Rapid lab would be required to modify their existing onboarding screens migrating service calls to the AML APIs. Branch Rapid Labs (BRL) currently uses the A6 Party Inquiry, Party Update, Party Locate and Party Setup services to retrieve and update customer information, to meet the AML KYC regulatory requirements BRL will need to modify from using the A6 Party Inquiry, Party Update, Party Locate and Party Setup services and must integrate with AML API services. Also for new customer and existing customers with new products, BRL will integrate with the AML KYC APIs’ for the following capabilities: (new customer, address, intended use, customer profile and occupation) all these need to meet the AML KYC requirements.
• Skilled in the project lifecycle, its various methodologies and expected outputs.
• Candidate must possess a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology.
• The incumbent is responsible for managing multiple small projects concurrently. The incumbent is expected to identify strategies and objectives and act to implement them on his/her own initiative. The incumbent is guided by Bank policy and receives broad direction from the Senior Manager/Director. The incumbent is expected to function independently to ensure that the department’s objectives are met.
• The position requires concentrated use of sight and touch at a computer terminal on average 4-5 hrs/day. The incumbent must work under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities and changing project requirements. The incumbent must be able to react quickly to resolve problems and work overtime on occasion to meet deadlines and to implement systems with minimal impact to the end users. The incumbent may be required to travel to remote locations several times per year and potentially for an extended period of time.
