Story Behind the Need:

• Project Summary : Contributes to the overall success of the Data Office in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The main function of a Data Governance Manager is to review data domain’s activities to confirm that their critical data elements, data sources and data governance activities comply with Policy and Standards

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
• Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on

• Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member Serves as a liaison between the business community and the
• IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
• Review data initiatives’ implementation of data governance activities for quality assurance confirm that their critical data elements, data sources and data governance activities comply with Policy and

Standards:

• Serves as a liaison between key stakeholders in data domains and the Data office Governance for Gating reviews and registration activities
• Provide support of the Gating/governance reviews and registration process and tooling to data domains
• This role requires an understanding of data governance leading practices and knowledge of policy and standards
• Experience in data governance initiatives, policy and standards and providing guidance and support to data domains
• Ability to exercise good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
• Ability to solve technical processes/problems and understand complex details
• Ability to increase operating efficiency and produce high quality technical solutions
• A high level of interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills necessary to relate to other people

Qualifications/Must Have Skills:

• 7+ years of data governance, data compliance and/or data audit governance review in order to drive data governance initiatives, policies and standards
• 3-5 + years of prior work experience within FI or Banking
• Past project management skills/ experience in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously to meet aggressive deadlines
• A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills is necessary as this contractor will be corresponding to stakeholders, VPs
• 3-5 years of prior hands on work experience facilitating between different business and IT teams as a centralized function in order to provide guidance and support to data domains.
• Ability to solve technical problems/ processes and understand complex details
• A high level of interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills necessary to relate to other people

Nice to have:

• Spanish speaking would be an asset
• Strong understanding of data technology
