Story Behind the Need
• Business group: Canadian Digital Banking Engineering – Applications – part of client digital Engineering – supporting digital banking applications (desktop banking)
• Project: TSYS Modernization Project – converting backend credit card systems to TSYS systems
Candidate Value Proposition:
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to mobile banking, to an Agile work environment and work in payments for one of the top 5 Canadian Banks.
Typical Day in Role:
• Drive joint application design solutioning sessions with our architecture, development, and security architecture teams that inform high-level estimates for large and medium-sized incoming initiatives
• Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements, and turn them into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, etc. to meet development and stakeholder needs.
• Create, refine and maintain the product backlog and associated deliverables; release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines
• Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (such as reporting, performance, interfaces, and constraints.)
• Help improve and drive our engineering practices by providing valuable inputs and suggestions as to what works well and what can be done better
Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 5+ years of BSA experience, preferably within banking
• 3+ years previous experience with projects in Payments
• 3+ years’ experience within an Agile environment
• 2+ years’ Mobile banking experience
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Certified Scrum Master
• JIRA/Confluence experience
• Postman experience
Soft Skills Required:
• Good communication skills
• Stakeholder management skills
Education:
• Post-Secondary, in a technical background preferred
• CSM an asset
• CBAP an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
• Ideal candidate has worked on recent mobile banking projects, has used Jira and Confluence, knows how to work in and Agile framework
Candidate Review & Selection
• 1 round – 1 hour – MS Teams video interview – with HM and 2 more from the team
• Technical questions – how end to end mobile banking works, questions around APIs and see how much they know; will be giving them scenario-based questions around what their role would be in each phase of project
• Hiring Manager’s availability to interview: ASAP
