Story Behind the Need

• Business group: Canadian Wealth Management Operations
• Project: Canadian Wealth Management Operations is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to assist with reviewing the set fees that are charged to clients and make sure that the fees historically charged are accurate.
• Hiring a BSA that has a technical background to help complete that review.
• Reason for request: Increased Workload

Typical Day in Role

• Primarily working with other technical BA and operational team for wealth management operations
• Most of the time working with databases and want to create an access data base
• The candidate should have experience with working with large amounts of Data, Data Sets, SQL knowledge, and Microsoft Access
• They will be creating reports for the advisory teams and whenever errors are found, the advisors are notified so that they can correct overcharges to clients
• Creating reports that is used for letters to the clients, and checks
• The main function of a Business Systems Analyst is to perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications
• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Supports one or more highly complex business processes Works on multiple projects as a project team member
• Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in a similar BSA role preferably at a global FI
• 5+ years of experience with SQL and Microsoft Access database
• 5+ years of experience within Wealth Management

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of business analysis
• Experience documenting processes and data flows
• 2-5 years of experience in a computer programming capacity

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communications skills to coordinate with high ranking individuals internally (Director, VP level and up)
• Self-starter that actively engages issues seeking resolution, ability to meet dynamic changes on prioritization
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight
• Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running
• Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism
• Strong investigation, prioritization, and organization skills
• Candidate must have an open mind when it comes to approach, and be able to assess each situation separately
• Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding

Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

Additional Notes

• This candidate will have strong business acumen, but e a very technical individuals
• They should have experience analyzing business process and controls
• The candidate should have an understanding experience reviewing and working with large data sets
• Will be building reports by analyzing trends daily
