Story Behind the Need

• Business Group: GWRT – Global Capital Markets Technology is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Developer to assist with the eTrading Project. This is a net new project that is already in flight but is anticipated to go on for 10-12 months.

Typical Day in Role:

• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Must Have Skills/Requirements:

• Functional Programming (Java or Scala preferred) – 3+ years of experience

Nice to Have Skills:

• Scala (not with Spark, but core functional Scala experience)
• Capital Markets Experience (Capital Markets Technology Systems – fixed income)
• Experience with Unix
• Ion Marketing experience or knowledge
• Experience with Messaging Systems such as Kafka or Solace
• Experience or knowledge on Ion Marketing

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills
• Strong verbal skills – will be working with Traders/Stakeholders
• Strong written skills (technical documentation- documenting and presenting test results)

Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
