Summary of day to day responsibilities:

• Will receive submissions from stakeholders. Contractor will be responsible for reviewing and contacting stakeholders if anything needs to be clarified
• Half the day reviewing documents / half the day talking to stakeholders
• Part of a Governance team
• Previous accounting experience will be helpful
• Month end close experience would be helpful
• Candidates must be able to follow a process and then apply critical thinking
• Will be working in center of excellence for corporate finance– super high performers – a lot of competition – high expectations

Job Description:

• The Enterprise Project Finance Team provides end-to-end project financial support including development of business case financials, facilitating project planning and forecasting, providing insightful reporting and analysis, reviewing and challenging large projects, and maintaining relevant policies, methodology, tools, and training. In addition, it drives the agenda on project prioritization for the Bank with a goal to optimize the portfolio ensuring investment in the right things at the right time to drive shareholder value. The team is focused on producing high-quality results within a positive work environment, with a strong emphasis on career development.
• This position is part of the Governance team within Enterprise Project Finance. This team owns project finance processes, methodology and governance, and ensures strong alignment and integration with the enterprise, in particular Enterprise Project Delivery Excellence (EPDE) and Technology. The team also provides independent challenge for the largest and most complex projects in the Bank.
• This role would be best suited to a high performer who enjoys reviewing the largest projects within the Bank, and applying the Bank’s policies and methodologies to critically and objectively challenge all information received (business cases, supporting schedules, governance artifacts etc.)

Accountabilities include the following:

• Support the review, challenge, refinement, and summarization process of Enterprise Project Benefits Realization artifacts such as Post Implementation Reviews (PIR), Run-Rate Worksheets (RRW), Project Run-Rate Reviews (PR3), and Metrics Dashboards (MD)
• Support an important Governance process which identifies projects that require the submission of Enterprise Project Benefits Realization artifacts (e.g. PIR, RRW, PR3, MD), liaising with members of the broader Enterprise Project Finance team to obtain these artifacts in an efficient and timely manner
• Assist with the preparation of both monthly and ad hoc reporting that details project-driven impacts to the Bank as a whole (e.g. project driven financial benefits, ongoing costs, net income before tax)
• Act as an advisor for stakeholders engaged in preparing Benefits Realization artifacts
• Responsible for administrative duties related to the process around reviewing Total Project Investment ?$10-million projects
• Supports updates to the Project Approval Policy, Benefits Realization Operating Standards and project financial methodology, along with the Connections internal site where these documents are posted
• Supports the development and enhancement of project financial related tools and templates
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the group
