Candidate profile details:

• Years of experience: 8yrs+
• L& D exp in a large org – Ideally FI
• Working with an external vendor , testing what is created

Must have:

• 8+ years’ experience as an Instructional Designer/Developer
• Advanced design and development skills in creating high quality, fully accessible learning deliverables in all modalities (i.e. instructor led – classroom & virtual materials; eLearning storyboard; self-led learning)
• Experienced leading other Instructional Designers/vendors towards the successful implementation of highly complex, transformational learning projects
• Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint & Word) and experience designing virtual materials for delivery in a virtual classroom setting
• Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG2.1) and testing using Freedom Scientific JAWS Screen Reader Version 20 is preferred
• Advanced technical skill in:
• eLearning/web development tools (ex. Articulate Storyline, HTML5, etc.)
• Video and audio editing (ex. After Affects, Premiere, Audition, Vyond/GoAnimate etc.)

Nice to Have

• Instructional Design experience supporting the financial industry on highly complex, transformational projects
• Experience with Adobe Connect, WebEx, MS Teams and other virtual learning tools is preferred
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other graphic design components within the Adobe Creative Cloud product suite is preferred.

Job description:

• The main function of the Sr. L&D Instructional Design, Development and Oversight role is to consult, scope, recommend, design and collaboratively be a leader in the work they do while working closely with a project team in the effective development of high quality, fully accessible, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions on complex, transformational learning projects. The individual will also design and develop media, graphics and interactive web-based assets for innovative learning and performance solutions. Additionally, they will act as a conduit between client SMEs and the vendor from a design and development perspective.
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert with both practical and technical expertise in areas of design and development for all learning approaches
• Participates in and contributes to the scoping of projects and planning, alongside the vendor, ensuring learner experience and objectives are met
• Performs vendor design oversight and development validation on multiple deliverables of varying complexity and modalities (i.e., classroom, virtual, self-led)
• Acts as a Lead Designer/Developer, providing design oversight and development validation on vended learning solutions while ensuring alignment to client brand, learner accessibility and principles of diversity and inclusion, leveraging established standards and guidelines
• Continuously enhances knowledge / expertise in own area and participates in knowledge transfer within the team while keeping current with industry trends and developments
• Adept at interacting with diverse groups of internal partners at all levels as well as external vendors
• Provides expertise on overall program design and development, including recommendations for optimal effectiveness and innovation
• Shares / validates that the vendor has the most up to date client accessibility, technology and brand standard guidelines
• Submits vendor produced design assets to translation and tracks the progress of the various translation requests and/or, as required
• Ensures final files are properly named and stored on internal drives, and tagged appropriately for ease of maintenance/reuse
• When required, designs and/or develops deliverables in various modalities

Degree/Certifications Required:

• Educational background in Instructional Design and Development / Adult Learning Certificate
