Story Behind the Need:

• Business group: GWMS- Asset Management Solutions
• Project: Supporting asset management systems team. There is support across the team plus about a half dozen projects ongoing.
• Reason for request: Requirement to include dedicated Scrum Master with project teams to allow focused attention to team application of agile best-practices as well as inspire/implement continuous improvement activities.

Typical Day in Role:

• Scrum ceremony: facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning sessions, sprint review and retrospective meetings
• Facilitating and enabling continuous improvement within the team
• Building metrics on team delivery
• Manage the team Kanban board and guide the team to update Kanban board and keep it up to date
• Remove impediments and continuously look to ways in improving process to increase efficiency
• Guide and coach the team to become self-organized and encourage collaboration.
• Support the product owner in maintaining and grooming the product backlog
• Communicating with the team and IT management

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 5 years’ broad experience with different teams at different stages of their Agile implementation
• Demonstrated experience in applying agile methodology to delivering IT projects (recent project experience)
• Professional experience with Scrum and Kanban
• Professional experience using Jira and Confluence.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Any other Agile practices not included in requirements are an asset
• Recent roles in the Financial Industry or banking

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills are required

Best vs Average:

• Ability to clearly communicate their thought process and their point of view (demonstrating their ability to connect and communicate with the team).

Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Scrum Master certification is an asset
• Kanban University certification is and asset

Candidate Review & Selection:

• Structure and Format: likely two interview rounds (panel with members of two teams)
